Bleeding Control for the Injured (B-CON)
May 23rd, 2019
Hackettstown Medical Center
Medical Office Building Conference Room
Presented by: Morristown Medical Center Trauma Team
1. The participants will understand the importance of using a tourniquet to control life-threatening bleeding from an arm or leg and demonstrate how to apply a tourniquet to the arm and leg.
2. The participants will understand the importance of identifying injuries to the chest and abdomen and demonstrate how to “pack a wound” and apply pressure to control bleeding.
One of the most common causes of preventable death after traumatic injury is uncontrolled bleeding. The only thing more tragic than a death…is a death that could have been prevented.
